Exploring Digital Rights and Inclusion with DRILL Fellowship
The Digital Rights and Inclusion Learning Lab (DRILL) Fellowship offers an immersive learning experience focused on digital rights and inclusion in Africa.
This fellowship aims to foster innovation, build capacity, and facilitate networking within the digital rights and inclusion community.
As a DRILL Fellow, you will have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of the digital ecosystem while contributing your unique insights and innovations.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the DRILL Fellowship 2023, you must meet the following criteria:
- Early-Career Individuals: Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience as technology or social innovators, researchers, policy experts, and/or entrepreneurs.
- Relevant Qualifications: Fellows must possess relevant postgraduate qualifications, demonstrating their expertise in the field.
- Exceptional Individuals: PIN seeks exceptional individuals who bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a passion for digital rights and inclusion.
Fellowship Responsibilities and Benefits
As a DRILL Fellow, you will have the following responsibilities and benefits:
- Time Commitment: Dedicate at least 10 hours per month to fellowship activities, including meetings and assigned tasks.
- Research and Advocacy: Publish research findings and deliver an advocacy campaign on digital rights or digital inclusion in Africa.
- Networking Opportunities: Connect with industry experts who will lead sessions and contribute to your professional growth.
- Digital Rights Community: Join the Net Rights Coalition, fostering continuous engagement and collaboration.
- Financial Support: Receive a stipend of US$500 to cover your participation in the fellowship.
- Visibility: Fellow submissions will be published on PIN’s website and shared with the digital rights community.
- Ecosystem Integration: PIN will cover communications costs associated with fellow activities and provide opportunities to engage with the digital rights ecosystem.
Application and Timeline
The application period for the DRILL Fellowship 2023 is open from 4 July 2023 to 12 July 2023.
The selection process will be finalized by the end of July, and successful fellows will commence their fellowship journey in August, continuing through November 2023.
