Glenbrook Lodge Nursing Home
Eastern Health provides health services to the communities that make up the Avalon, Burin and Bonavista Peninsulas. Volunteers of these communities donate their time in many of the acute, community and long-term care sites to enhance the health care and service provided to our clients, patients, residents and their families. There are varied and diverse volunteer opportunities existing throughout Eastern Health. We are sure to have a volunteer opportunity that meets your interests and availability.
Volunteer opportunities at the Glenbrook Lodge include: Helping with Recreation Activities, Pastoral Care, Meal times, Community Outings, Music, and Special events, etc.
We are currently seeking volunteers to participate in the following activities:

This will help us understand the type of volunteer assignment that may interest you and meet your needs. Please note, individuals must be a minimum of 14 years of age to volunteer. As with most volunteer positions, an application, references, an interview, a certificate of conduct, Health Screening and orientation are required. The appropriate forms will be given to you during the interview process.

Volunteer Attributes Specific To This Role Include

Orientation: An orientation to Eastern Health will be provided by the Coordinator of Volunteer Resources. An orientation to the assigned area will be provided by the unit or area staff or designated as required. All volunteers are required to attend these orientation sessions prior to beginning any volunteer assignment.
Training: Additional training for this assignment will be provided as required by designated staff.
Attire: Comfortable and professional clothing, volunteer uniform (if provided) and Eastern Health-issued identification badge.
Evaluation: Your open and honest feedback about your volunteer experience is encouraged. Consult the coordinator for Volunteer Resources about your experience, expectations and concerns.
Safety: Safety is a priority for Eastern Health. Volunteers must ensure that safety for patients, residents, clients, employees and themselves is paramount in the workplace. Any and all safety concerns must be reported to the unit staff or the coordinator for Volunteer Resources immediately.
