Position Summary

The Program Coordinator is a vital part of CNFA’s Program Management Unit (PMU), contributing to the global portfolio of agricultural development programs. Based at CNFA Headquarters in Washington, DC, the Program Coordinator will provide key administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth execution of projects worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator’s duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving as a liaison between field projects and CNFA Headquarters in Washington, DC.
  • Ensuring quality control in the preparation of work plans, budgets, progress reports, and other key project deliverables.
  • Supporting senior PMU staff in monitoring and guiding the operational and programmatic success of ongoing projects.
  • Tracking project implementation and budget progress, advising on adjustments when needed.
  • Monitoring projects to ensure compliance with agreements, financial regulations, and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Assisting with the preparation of contractual approval requests.
  • Collaborating with communications staff to develop and maintain project-related content for the CNFA website.
  • Reviewing grant and procurement documentation to ensure compliance with donor regulations and facilitating necessary approvals.
  • Drafting scopes of work for consultants, setting timelines for consultancy deliverables, and assisting with recruitment of consultants.
  • Assisting the recruitment team in identifying and retaining key project personnel, including local staff.
  • Supporting the PMU and field teams with technical and operational procurement.
  • Aiding in the onboarding and contracting of project team staff.
  • Collaborating with the Program Development Team to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Traveling to field sites to assist with project evaluations, gather program data, and assess project progress.
  • Performing other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, International Development, or a related field.
  • A Master’s Degree is preferred.

Experience

  • Prior experience working with international development projects, particularly those focused on enterprise development, agriculture, and/or agribusiness is preferred.
  • Experience in supporting USAID programming, especially in the Middle East, is advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of USAID or similar donor program planning cycles, rules, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships and collaborate effectively to achieve results.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Experience working in an international context and the flexibility to adapt to diverse settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
  • Working knowledge of Arabic (reading, writing, speaking) is preferred.
