Artisan Assistant

The Artisan Assistant will be responsible for performing maintenance/service as identified and requested to a required standard thereby ensuring machine availability Customer satisfaction and SHEQ effectiveness.

Key Performance Areas:

The Artisan Assistant will be responsible for assisting Artisan in servicing customer equipment at Ngezi Mine. The various skills/competences are, among other things:

  • Carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance of TMM in the present of an Artisan
  • Attending to TMM break downs in the presents of an Artisan
  • Making workstation safe for both man and equipment.
  • Assisting the Artisans in carrying out task.
  • General housekeeping of the workshop and workstation.

Your Profile:

An Artisan Assistant is expected to have

  • At minimum 5 “O” Level passes.
  • Class 4 Craft Certificate (Diesel Plant Fitter/ Power Electrician/ Auto Electrician and Power Electrician)
  • Experience in working in mining environment is an added advantage.

About the job

  • Provide on-site technical assistance to resolve issues.
  • Develop customer relationships to ensure customers have a positive experience and remain loyal to the Sandvik brand.
  • Provide technical training to the service network on proper operation, maintenance and troubleshooting practices.
  • Provide technical support to end users, operators, and service personnel in cases of complex technical issues.
  • Provide relevant feedback to Technical Support Team and relevant Factory Product Engineering to enable improvements to the equipment or its operation.
  • Provide assistance in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims and engineering machine improvements.
  • Review spare parts recommendations with Parts BLM organization
  • Provide information on accuracy of Machine Life Operating Costs (MLOC)
  • Investigate warranty claims proactively and reactively to enhance customer satisfaction and provide feedback to the Warranty Analyst.
