The Director (Marketing, Communications and Public Relations) reports to the Pro Vice Chancellor (Business, Infrastructure and Enterprise Development)

Qualifications

1. An earned PhD in any of the following fields: Marketing, Communications or Public Relations;
2. A Masters’ degree in any of the following fields: Marketing, Communications or Public Relations;
3. A first degree in any of the following fields: Marketing, Communications or Public Relations;
4. A professional qualification in the following fields: Marketing, Communications or Public Relations is an added advantage;
5. Membership to a professional board is a distinct advantage;
6. A sound understanding of the legal and financial aspects of major marketing, communications and public relations transactions; and
7. Working knowledge of marketing, communications and public relations metrics.

Experience

1. At least five (5) years post-qualification working experience, three (3) of which are in business leadership reflecting various marketing, communications and public relations process modeling software applications;
2. Broad experience in managing a complex marketing, communications and public relations portfolio informed by forward planning and forecasting;
3. Demonstrated experience in developing marketing, communications and public relations ecosystems; and
4. Demonstrated experience in leading multi-disciplinary marketing, communications and public relations teams.

2. A Masters’ degree in any of the following fields: Business Development, Enterprise Development or Entrepreneurship;
3. A first degree in any of the following fields: Business Development, Enterprise Development or Entrepreneurship;
4. A sound understanding of the legal and financial aspects of major business and enterprise leadership transactions; and
5. Working knowledge of business and enterprise viability metrics.

Experience

1. At least five (5) years post-qualification working experience, three (3) of which are in business leadership reflecting various business process modeling software applications;
2. Broad experience in managing a complex enterprise portfolio informed by forward planning and forecasting;
3. Demonstrated experience in developing business enterprises ecosystems;
4. Demonstrated experience in leading multi-disciplinary Business and Enterprise Development teams.
