Are you eager to embark on an exciting new journey? Mukuru is seeking enthusiastic Booth Tellers to join our dynamic team at various locations across Zimbabwe, including Arundel, Highland Park, Machipisa, TWT Bulawayo, and Bradfield.

As a Booth Teller, your main responsibility will be to deliver professional and efficient remittance services. Reporting directly to the Booth Supervisor, you’ll ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time while safeguarding against fraud by verifying the authenticity of documents.

In this role, you’ll work closely with internal Booth staff and provide excellent service to external customers.


Key Responsibilities

Transaction Processing:

  • Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures for all transactions, both collection and sending.
  • Verify notes received for outbound transactions and manage transaction limits per Central Bank guidelines.
  • Count and double-check cash before handing it to customers.
  • Sort change for outbound transactions and cancel orders that do not meet KYC standards via the Mukuru App.
  • Report any suspicious transactions to the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Reporting Officer.

Cash Management:

  • Safeguard cash (maintain float in the safe), including the protection of passwords and PINs in your safe compartment.
  • Perform daily cash-ups at the end of each workday.
  • Lock all devices securely in the safe overnight.
  • Assist customers in filling out Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) forms for suspicious transactions.

World-Class Customer Service:

  • Greet and thank customers during each transaction.
  • Promote Mukuru products to customers and ensure a positive service experience.

Professional Development:

  • Attend monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) discussions with the Branch/Regional Manager.
  • Participate in bi-annual performance meetings and complete all required compliance training.

Housekeeping:

  • Clean the booth and workspace daily before trade commences.
  • Perform daily security checks within the premises and maintain the visitor’s logbook, ensuring IDs are noted (for booth tellers).

Key Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate (or equivalent)
  • Higher Certificate or post-secondary qualification
  • 2 years of experience in the financial sector
  • Knowledge of foreign currencies and FICA regulations
  • Familiarity with the Cash Stops App system
