Financial Management and Compliance Advisor for Zimbabwe, Harare, Zimbabwe

Education/Experience Requirements

  •  Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar field of study and at least eight years of experience in financial and administrative management with International organizations or a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and at least 12 years of relevant experience
  •  Senior manager experience in financial, administrative, and contract management of USG funded projects, preferably on large & complex global projects.
  •  Experience managing USAID contracts and have expert knowledge in USG rules and regulations.
  •  Experience with PEPFAR programming and policies
  •  Demonstrate interpersonal skills and ability to manage staff effectively in a complex and changing environment.
  •  Proven ability to manage confidential matters discreetly and with the trust and confidence of colleagues and clients.
  •  Experience in providing Organizational Capacity Development Technical Assistance
  •  Experience with international donor-supported projects (e.g., USAID and CDC, including PEPFAR)
  •  Ability to work with a high level of independence, using own initiative

    Consultant: Performance Monitoring & Improvement Advisor in Zimbabwe, Harare, Zimbabwe

    Education/Experience Requirements

    •  Minimum of a master’s degree in Statistics, Epidemiology or another health-related field
    •  10+ years of experience monitoring health or HIV-specific programs, particularly designing M&E plans
    •  Demonstrated expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods
    •  Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience setting up and managing project monitoring and evaluation plans and systems, for USAID-supported projects preferred
    •  Substantial experience in building the capacity of government and/or local partner staffing data collection, analysis and/or use
    •  Ability to independently plan and execute complex tasks while addressing daily management details and remaining organized and focused on long-term deadlines and strategy
    •  Possess outstanding professional reputation and have strong demonstrated interpersonal, written, and oral presentation skills
    •  Willingness to travel within the region as needed
    •  Strong English language skills required.

      Requirements

      •  Master’s degree in public health, public administration, medicine, or related field.
      •  At least 7-10 years of relevant experience managing, designing, and implementing, multi-million-dollar, donor-funded health programs in Zimbabwe and/or other Southern African contexts. Previous experience as a Chief of Party preferred.
      •  Demonstrated knowledge of USAID project management, including rules and regulations.
      •  Excellent leadership qualities and in-depth public health technical and management expertise.
      •  Experience in MNCH service delivery, health systems strengthening, community health, capacity building, quality improvement, and policy development.
      •  Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and advise Ministry counterparts and maintain effective working relations with national and global stakeholders.

        Financial Management and Operations Director, MNCH Zimbabwe, Harare, Zimbabwe

        Requirements

        •  Master’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, commerce, operations, or related field; ACCA or CPA certificate is strongly preferred.
        •  Minimum of five years of experience in a similar financial management and operations role supporting USAID or other donor activities in developing countries.
        •  Experience managing project or organizational budgets in excess of $5 million per year and supervising finance and operations staff.
        •  Experience with budgeting and financial reporting requirements of multi-million-dollar USAID-funded activities.
        •  Strong knowledge of USG-approved accounting practices, financial reporting standards and financial management processes.
        •  Demonstrated experience managing a complex, small grants program.
        •  Experience in capacity building of local partners and sub-grantees in financial accounting and sustainability.
