A local faith-based Non-Governmental Organization involved in the development, advocacy and humanitarian work seeks to fill the following vacant positions:
1. JOB TITLE: PROJECT ASSISTANT x 1 – Livelihoods
Purpose of the position
The Project Assistant is mainly responsible for planning and implementing the livelihood component
of the program. Conducting community mobilization, beneficiary registrations, verification,
distribution of livelihood inputs and facilitating livelihood training field.
Responsibilities;
Conduct community mobilization
Beneficiary selection and registration
Facilitate livelihoods training
Distribution of livelihood inputs
Create and manage distribution lists for livelihood inputs
Conduct beneficiary follow-ups and extension support
Compile reports for the livelihood activities
Collect Stories of Change
Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Desired Qualifications, technical skills and experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Security and Rural Development, Development Studies, Agriculture Studies or related fields
At least 1 year of traceable experience in Community Development focusing on small livestock and climate-smart agriculture
Ability to perform field assignments and willingness to travel for long periods of time in difficult terrain, harsh and demanding conditions
Ability to ride a motorbike
Good engagement skills with local leaders and beneficiaries
Committed to the humanitarian principles
2. JOB TITLE: Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant
Purpose of the position
The incumbent will be responsible for the enumeration and data capture process, maintaining of
beneficiary database, assist with administration and financial processes.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the development of M&E data collection tools
Assist in implementing monitoring and evaluation assessments, surveys, and process monitoring activities
Participate in field data collection (interviews, questionnaires, focus group discussions, observations, photography)
Support data cleaning and entry processes
Update relevant project databases for beneficiaries
Compile and review monthly project reports
Compile and review donor-specific reports (quarterly, half year and end-of-project reports)
Participate in documentation and review of stories to communicate the impact of the project
Identify gaps and opportunities for programs expansion and extension
Conduct other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Desired Qualifications, technical skills and experience
Degree in Social Sciences, Agriculture, Development Studies and any other related studies
A certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation is an added advantage
At least 1 year of traceable experience in Monitoring and Evaluation
Good computer skills
Willingness to work under pressure and over extended periods of time
Committed to the humanitarian principles
3. JOB Title: Gender Officer (Part-Time)
Purpose of the position
To ensure that gender interventions are effectively implemented and integrated during the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of programs.
Responsibilities:
Assist in effective gender mainstreaming in all project programming processes.
Conducts ongoing coaching, mentoring and training of staff, church leaders and members of the community on gender issues.
Support tracking and reporting on gender indicators, sex and gender disaggregated data
Participate in Proposal Development on the Gender Thematic pillar
Organize and participate in women and gender commemorations and events.
Organize and participate in gender-related assessments and surveys.
Participate in high-level gender engagements with stakeholders and partners
Conduct other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Desired Qualifications, technical skills and experience
Degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies and any other relevant Social Sciences
At least 3 years of traceable experience in Gender Programming
Knowledge of PSEA and Gender Policies
Committed to the humanitarian principles
4. JOB Title: Protection Assistant.
Purpose of the position
The Protection Assistant is mainly responsible for the planning, and implementation of Protection activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identification of needs particularly the needs of the target beneficiaries, host communities and key stakeholders.
Assessment of clients using the means testing method and guided by humanitarian principles, values and ethics.
Conducting all the case management processes of the project in close consultation with the Project Officer and National Protection Coordinator.
Facilitating workshops, training and awareness campaigns for social protection initiatives for the organization.
Assisting in stakeholder mapping and engagement to enhance coordination and sustainability of related initiatives and results.
Assisting in the compilation of donor-specific reports (quarterly, half-year and end of the project).
Compile monthly project reports and establish project database documents that will account for lessons learnt from implementation.
Promote adherence to relevant humanitarian and social work standards in areas of practice guided by the targets of the protection thematic pillar.
Give support when needed to the regional and national offices that work closely with the duty station the incumbent will be based at.
Qualifications and Key Competencies.
Academic Qualifications.
3 A-level passes.
BSc Honors Degree in Social Work – Upper Second Class (2.1).
At least one (1) year of working experience.
Council of Social Workers Practice Certificate and Active Registration.
