
Medical Officers
Purpose of Role
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide medical and health services to employees at Tongaat Hulett Zimbabwe.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care Management:
- Conduct medical examinations and provide treatment for both in-patients and out-patients.
- Diagnose medical conditions and develop prognoses.
- Perform daily ward rounds.
- Compile and maintain up-to-date case records and medical reports.
- Provide operative care for elective and emergency cases.
- Recommend emergency referrals for patients as needed.
- Safety, Health, and Environmental Awareness:
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards and regulations relevant to the area of responsibility.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).
- ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification is an added advantage.
- Full and current registration as a Medical Officer with the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental management systems.
- At least five years of practical experience across major medical disciplines, including general medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, anesthetics, and emergency care.
- Valid Class 4 driver’s license.
