The Association of South African Women in Science and Engineering SAWISE is inviting tertiary-level students to apply for their scholarship programme for the 2023 academic year. The scholarships will be given to Black female students studying towards any science and Engineering Postgraduate qualification.
The SAS scholarships will be given R15 000 per annum, and recipients are required to become active members of the SAS.
Requirements for the SAWISE scholarship application
- Must be female
- It would be best if you were Black (African, Coloured or Indian)
- Must be from any sub-Saharan African country
- You must be studying or intending to study towards a Science or Engineering qualification
- Must be at a recognized University in South Africa
- The minimum overall result of 70% for your final year of study
- South African students will be given preference
How to Apply for the SAWISE scholarship
The application process is done in two stages:

- Submit Clear copies of the following documents to sawise.scholarships@gmail.com
Write the word ‘SAWISE Angus Scholarship 2023 in the subject line.’
The following documents are compulsory when submitting, and if any of the below is missing, your application will be disqualified:
- Certified copy of your ID card
- Academic transcript on Institution’s letterhead
- Proof of 2023 acceptance, if applicable, on the institution’s letterhead
- Your detailed CV
- Motivational letter supporting your application with approximately 350 words
- Two accountable references
