Located in Vienna, Austria, CTBTO is an international organization responsible for establishing the global verification system under the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT).

About CTBTO

The Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, with its headquarters in Vienna, Austria, is tasked with implementing the CTBT. This treaty aims to prohibit nuclear-weapon-test explosions and any other nuclear explosions worldwide.

CTBTO operates a global verification regime, which includes a network of 337 stations, an international data center, a communications system, and on-site inspections to ensure compliance with the treaty.

Responsibilities

As a Human Resource Assistant in the Recruitment and Staff Development Unit, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient and client-oriented recruitment process within assigned divisions. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Contributing to the selection process for various appointments, including reviewing job descriptions and terms of reference.
  2. Assisting in job classification and preparing vacancy announcements.
  3. Reviewing candidate eligibility and organizing assessments and interviews.
  4. Maintaining effective communication with divisional HR focal points and hiring managers.
  5. Providing support in using the e-recruitment system and other HR tools.
  6. Managing the centralized filing system and updating recruitment files.
  7. Supporting talent acquisition initiatives through social media content creation and outreach efforts.
  8. Assisting in the preparation of statistical reports and responding to ad hoc requests.
  9. Contributing to knowledge transfer and documentation of standard operating procedures.
  10. Handling recruitment-related correspondence and communications.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Completed secondary education with additional training in human resources.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant working experience, with a focus on recruitment and talent acquisition.
  • Familiarity with the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) job classification system and experience using Master Standards is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems, such as SAP Success Factors, is highly desirable.
  • Experience with reporting tools like Microsoft Power BI is an advantage.
  • Attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.

Language Skills and Remuneration

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential for this position. Knowledge of other official CTBTO languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is desirable.

CTBTO offers an attractive compensation and benefits package in line with the policies of the International Civil Service Commission. The salary may be subject to deductions for the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund and/or Health Insurance Scheme.
