DENOSA bursaries are inviting eligible applicants to apply for financial help to support their studies. The bursaries are once-only donations and should be renewed through application every year. The bursary amounts will only cover a small portion of the expenses.
The successful candidates will then be required to submit academic progress reports annually until the completion of the course/degree for which the bursary was granted. Progress reports must be presented on or before 14 February of every year; otherwise, a bursary refund may be requested.
Bursaries will be given to students in the following fields:
- Bridging and Short courses
- Community Science nursing
- Community health nursing, geriatric nursing and psychiatric nursing
- Clinical Master’s Degree programme
- Postgraduate studies at a University or Technikon
Requirements for the DENOSA Bursary
- Must be a fully paid-up member of DENOSA for at least two years
- You must be a paid-up member of DENOSA for the 2023 academic year and must remain as such for the duration of your studies
- Registered nurse or midwife
- Must have undertaken a certain amount of post-basic work
- Accepted for your course and registered with the educational institution for 2023
- For post-basic undergraduate courses, you must be studying towards a degree in nursing and must have passed at least half of the programme courses
- Post-basic Diploma courses must have given at least half of the system if it is for more than a year
- For Short classes, you have to be listed with the SA Nursing Council
- For the bridging practice, you must have finished the first year of study
