The 2025 Reach Oxford Scholarship (formerly known as the Oxford Student Scholarship) provides a unique opportunity for academically outstanding students from low-income countries to pursue an undergraduate degree at the University of Oxford. This scholarship is specifically designed for students who, due to financial constraints, political challenges, or a lack of adequate educational facilities in their home countries, are unable to study for a degree locally.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Reach Oxford Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be nationals of countries that receive official development assistance (ODA) from the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
  • Have received an offer to study at the University of Oxford for the 2025 academic year.
  • Demonstrate financial need and a strong academic record.
  • Show a commitment to returning to their home country after completing their studies.
  • Have not previously studied at the undergraduate level.

Selection Process

  • Not all Oxford colleges participate in the Reach Oxford Scholarship scheme annually. However, securing admission to a non-participating college does not disqualify applicants from applying. If selected, the university will arrange for the applicant to be transferred to a participating college.
  • The scholarship is awarded based on academic excellence, financial need, and social commitment.
  • The selection process takes place in March 2025, with applicants being informed of the outcome in April 2025.

  • UCAS Application: Applicants must apply for an undergraduate course at the University of Oxford via UCAS by October 15, 2024.
  • Scholarship Application: Candidates who receive an offer of admission should review the scholarship application guidance and complete the Undergraduate Scholarships Application Form online by 12 noon (UK time) on February 12, 2025.
  • Selection & Notification: The selection process will take place in March 2025, and successful candidates will be notified in April 2025.
