This exciting opportunity comes with a responsibility to provide outstanding customer care services to all airport users.

Job Description

As a Trainee Customer Services Assistant, your primary role is to create a seamless experience for passengers and visitors at Zimbabwean airports. Below are the key duties and responsibilities:

1. Frontline Customer Service

  • Provide passengers with flight, tourist, and general airport information for effective communication.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints at the airport’s frontline desk.
  • Gather customer feedback through suggestion boxes, comments books, and questionnaires, forwarding them to the shift Supervisor.
  • Ensure passengers’ needs and expectations are met promptly.
  • Assist in making relevant airport announcements through the public address system under the guidance of Customer Services Officers.
  • Monitor the service delivery of organizations and companies operating at the airport to ensure they meet airport standards.
  • Update the flight information display (FIDS) system.
  • Record service standards data and passenger statistics for trend analysis.
  • Document all activities affecting passengers and provide them to the Supervisor for analysis and service improvement.
  • Conduct spot checks to maintain general cleanliness in the terminal building for passengers’ use.
  • Respond to telephone inquiries at the Airport Information Centre.
  • Conduct airport tours for school children, college students, and other official airport visitors.
  • Assist in setting up corporate events.

2. Qualifications and Experience

  • 2 ‘A’ level passes in Commercial subjects.
  • 5 ‘O’ levels, including English Language.
  • Certificate in Marketing, Customer Services, Business Management, or equivalence.
  • A diploma in Customer Services, Marketing, or Business Management is an added advantage.
  • Age 25 years and below.

3. Skills and Competences

  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Well-groomed appearance.
