Adolescent and Youth Internship Opportunity At Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. The Adolescent and Youth Technical Intern will serve as a key resource in supporting CIPO and more specifically the adolescent and youth team. This individual will provide support to the AY team, with a primary focus on supporting EGPAF’S Technical Officer for Adolescent and Youth in the AY portfolio. The CIPO team is one team within EGPAF’s Technical and Strategic Initiatives (TSI) Unit in the Medical and Scientific Affairs (MSA) department, which is responsible for technical direction, program implementation, operational research, and monitoring and evaluation at the Foundation.

The CIPO team aims to maximize the impact of EGPAF’s catalytic projects (funded through private donors) to pilot innovative strategies, generate evidence to inform EGPAF programs and beyond, and increase EGPAF’s position as a leader in bringing innovation and optimization to practice.

  1. To identify, package and document evidence-based, effective programmatic approaches and best practices for scale-up in EGPAF country programs and external information-sharing;
  2. To provide high-quality technical assistance to EGPAF country programs and external agencies, such as governments and NGOs, in a variety of HIV service delivery areas;
  3. To support the implementation of select centrally-managed EGPAF awards.

The AY intern has three primary functions:

  1. Support and design visual and graphic component for tools to optimize adolescent and youth HIV programming
  2. Support the animation of exiting cartoons developed with young people for HIV treatment literacy across EGPAF countries
  3. Provide support to advance EGPAF’s adolescent and youth portfolio (HIV, prevention, SRH), working in close collaboration with EGPAF’s Officer, Adolescents and Youth, with country and global teams

No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect as an Intern? 

  • Currently enrolled student with at least one year of school completed (this includes colleges, universities, and community colleges), OR graduated within the past year
  • Graphic design, animation experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills in teamwork and ability to collaborate with diverse audiences and colleagues of all levels and locations around the world
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
