Job Overview

As an Accounting Officer at PPC Zimbabwe, your role is pivotal in delivering accurate and comprehensive cost-related information and analysis. This information is crucial for both operational and support functions, enabling managers to make informed decisions in managing costs and addressing cost-related issues within their departments.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Degree in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent qualification.
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in financial systems or an accounting environment.
  • Have previous experience working with ERP systems, specifically SAP.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using Excel and PowerPoint.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As an Accounting Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Support in Planning and Budgeting: Provide essential support in the planning and budgeting process, helping to ensure financial accuracy and adherence to budgetary goals.
  2. Data Accuracy: Accurately capture and maintain high-quality data, contributing to the integrity of financial records.
  3. Manager’s Reports: Prepare reports for the Administration Manager, offering crucial insights into financial performance.
  4. Cost Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of labor, material, and overhead costs, comparing them against budgeted figures.
  5. Cost Variances Reports: Formulate monthly cost variances reports, identifying and explaining variations from the budget.
  6. Cash Management: Oversee the maintenance of petty cash and cash-on-hand cash books to ensure proper cash management.
  7. Debtors Management: Maintain records of sundry debtors and assist in debtors’ collections.
  8. Payroll Input: Accurately capture payroll input, contributing to the smooth processing of employee payments.
