Zim-TTECH is looking for highly qualified individuals to fill the roles of Program Nurse – C-CAST. These vacancies are distributed across several districts, including Harare, Mashonaland Central (Guruve, Mazowe, Mt Darwin), Mashonaland East (Goromonzi, Marondera, Murewa, Seke), Mashonaland West (Chegutu, Makonde, Hurungwe, Zvimba), and Matabeleland North (Bubi, Lupane, Nkayi, Tsholotsho). Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of a Program Nurse – C-CAST is to provide cervical cancer screening services to women living with HIV (WLHIV) in alignment with PEPFAR reporting requirements and the Ministry of Health and Childcare’s strategic plan. The role encompasses various technical support activities, including Ca Cervix screening, cryotherapy, client referrals for treatment, follow-up, and thorough documentation of data. Furthermore, candidates will be involved in offering comprehensive HIV services, HIV testing, partner testing, care initiation, and documentation, along with defaulter tracking.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Providing technical support for Ca Cervix Screening for WLHIV above 25 years and comprehensive HIV services while ensuring quality assurance using national reporting tools
- Treatment and Outreach: Administering treatment for pre-cancerous cervical cancer lesions and conducting outreaches, community mobilization, and demand creation services.
- Clinical Procedures: Performing thermocoagulation and cryotherapy on clients with abnormal lesions
- Counseling Services: Offering information, educational, and counseling services in a professional and client-focused manner.
- Infection Control: Ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and maintaining functional clinical equipment
- Referrals and Data Reporting: Making appropriate referrals and tracking them for further care, reporting clinical data, and maintaining quality clinic data and commodities records
- Stock Management: Supporting the maintenance of adequate drug and medical commodities stocks.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collecting client data, ensuring confidentiality, and timely submission of national reporting tools. Also, analyzing program implementation for improvement.
- Reporting and Leadership: Preparing reports summarizing project results, ensuring technical soundness, and providing leadership and team building.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Candidates for this position should meet the following criteria:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Midwifery or Community Nursing.
- VIAC training, with certificates or a confirmation letter as proof.
- Training and experience in Counseling and HIV RDT.
- Knowledge of Cervical Cancer Screening and Cervicography, as well as experience in HIV Treatment and Care.
- Computer literacy for generating electronic reports and data analysis.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, especially when working with diverse cultures and religions.
