Applications are invited for the following posts at the University of Zimbabwe Agro-Industrial Park:

 Production Manager

The incumbent will be responsible for managing the overall day-to-day operations at the UZ Agro-
processing plant. The incumbent will also lead in the implementation of the strategic plans, line

balancing, short, mid-term and long-term goals at the plant. The function is to safely produce and

deliver a quality product and service to the customer’s satisfaction. It has to be performed cost-
effectively. The position also oversees the Health, Safety and Environment System of the

University of Zimbabwe Agro-Industrial Park.

Qualifications
• A Master’ Degree in Business Administration/Food Technology and Engineering or any other
related field.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Food Science and/or any other related programmes.
• At least 5 years’ experience in processing/industrial/manufacturing environment, of which a
minimum of 3 years in a medium to top level managerial capacity is required.
• Experience in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods Food Industry and operation of Food
Processing plants and their statutory and regulatory requirements is an added advantage
• Class 4 Drivers’ License
• Maturity, self-confidence and strong communication skills are critical.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends.

 Facilities Engineer

Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent is required.
• A relevant Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of the HSE Management Systems is a must.
• Performance driven and detail oriented individual required
• Proficient in MS Office packages and AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, ERP, SAP

 Finance Officer

Qualifications

● A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position in the manufacturing Industry
● Microsoft Office/ Pastel/ Sage
● Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

Logistics Coordinator

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management or equivalent
• C.I.P.S membership is an added advantage.
• 3 years’ experience in a related field
• Knowledge of Public Entities procurement process and regulations
• MS Office/Supply chain management software and tools

Human Resources Officer

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent
• At least 3 years’ experience in managing the human resources function in a manufacturing
industry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Package, Payroll Package and SAP system.
 Sales and Marketing Officer

Qualifications

● A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or equivalent
● Strong organisational, interpersonal and leadership skills
● At least 2 years’ working experience in marketing produce for a manufacturing company

 Animal Nutritionist

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Nutrition, Animal Sciences or equivalent
• Some experience in a similar position would be an advantage
● Advanced skills in MS Office
• Competences in FORMAT or any other feed formulation software

Quality Assurance Supervisor

Qualifications

• A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or Food
Technology/Engineering or equivalent
• Master’s Degree in Food Technology or equivalent is a an added advantage
• Extensive knowledge of the HSE Management Systems is a must.
• Work related experience in the food processing or feed production industry is required. Work
related experience in Quality Assurance methods for animal feeds is preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Packages.
• Ability to work days and hours as determined by the manufacturing schedule and supervisory
needs.

 IT Officer

Qualifications

● A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.
● Experience in working in an industrial area.
● Ability to use Business Intelligent Tools.

 Quality Control Officer

Qualifications

● A Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or equivalent
● Proven experience as quality inspector or relevant role
● A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
● Must be responsible and trustworthy
● Have thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
● Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages.

 Maintenance Officer

Qualifications 
● Class 1 Artisan in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering will be an added advantage.
● Computer literacy
● Ability to manage a team of Artisans and Assistants

Plant Operator (Baking Plant)

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Higher National Diploma in Instrumentation and Control
• Be able to read and interpret relevant engineering drawings, related specifications, quality
standards and equipment manuals, and to follow work instructions and relevant plans and
schedules.
• A minimum of 3 years’ post qualifying experience in a processing or manufacturing plant is
required.

Plant Operator (Edible Oil Plant

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment preferably in the
food industry.
• Apprenticeship training would be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Refrigeration would be an asset
• Knowledge of TPM would be an asset

 Plant Operator (Feed Plant)

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Apprenticeship training would be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 3 years’ post qualifying experience in a processing or manufacturing plant is
required.
• Ability to weld, maintain and repair equipment would be an added advantage.

Assistant Plant Operator (Baking Plant)

Qualifications

• A National Diploma (ND) in Mechanical or Production Engineering or any related field.
• At least 2 years post qualification experience in a fast pace food production facility is desired.
• A working knowledge of diverse high-speed line operating machinery is an added advantage.
• An appreciation of health and safety regulations at an intermediate level is a must.
• Ability to multitask and possess good teamwork and communication skills
• Physical stamina, strength and must be able to work on shifts.
• Ability to interpret production schedules and execute instructions with precision.
• Ability to meet targets and deadlines is a must.

• Minimum National Certificate (NC) in Plumbing/Journeyman class 1.
• Apprenticeship training would be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 3 years’ post qualification experience in a processing or manufacturing plant is
required.
• Ability to weld, maintain and repair equipment would be an added advantage.

 Baker

Qualifications

• The candidate must have a food handler’s license, as well as any other certifications deemed
necessary by state and municipal law.
• Certificate/Diploma or equivalent degree in hotel or institutional food preparation.
• Demonstrated understanding of and ability to operate basic food service equipment, safely
and effectively.
• Baking experience of at least 2 years is required.
