Duties And Responsibilities • Establishes an efficient and cost effective transport systems for the Grain Marketing Board by contracting rail and road transporters e.g. the National railways of Zimbabwe on an ongoing basis. • Plans and executes the movement of imports and exports into the country as and when necessary. • Provides transport services to all GMB Divisions/ Departments competitively. • Hires out excess transport to non GMB customers at competitive rates. • Prepares consolidated 'piling schedules for transport services rendered to internal and external services monthly, quarterly and annually. • Monitors the repairs and maintenance of all GMB vehicles. • Prepares a consoidated report on vehicle usage, fuel and maintenance for all GMB vehicles including those in regions monthly, quarterly and annually. • Ensures proper controls of vehicles and movement of drivers through proper use of log sheets, proper I.T. software system procedures and standing regulations. Qualifications And Experience • Degree in Logistics, Business Studies or Transport Management • A professional qualification in shipping and logistics/transport fleet • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role
