Introduction and Background:

Transparency International Zimbabwe (TIZ) is a non-profit, non-partisan local chapter of the global anti-corruption movement. Committed to democratic principles and good governance, TIZ believes in a people-centered approach to governance, emphasizing accountability, transparency, integrity, and participation. With rising corruption trends, TI Z is finalizing its 5-year strategy and aims to develop a contingency plan and crisis management strategy to address the challenges of anti-corruption programming in Zimbabwe.

Objective:

The primary goal of this consultancy is to enhance organizational programming and align TIZ's strategy with the political and economic realities in Zimbabwe. The contingency plan should identify potential risks and outline strategic response plans for high-priority risks that span multiple projects beyond TIZ.


Expectations:

Working closely with the Head of Programs, the consultant/s are expected to:

  • Develop a comprehensive Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, and Legal (PESTEL) analysis.
  • Create a detailed and well-researched risk matrix.
  • Formulate response and action plans for high-priority risks.
  • Submit a comprehensive document guiding TIZ’s programming, financial, and institutional frameworks.

Scheduling:

The assignment is scheduled to run for 7 days from the date of the contract award.

Payment:

Payments are delivery-based, and any deliverable not meeting specifications must be reworked at no additional cost. The proposed payment schedule is upon submission of progress reports, outlined against planned outputs, subject to approval by the Executive Director.

Role of the Local Organization:

TI Z will collaborate closely with the consultant/s, providing necessary documentation and information required for the assignment, and reviewing the draft report.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Advanced university degree (MA or PhD) in social sciences, preferably Governance studies, Development studies, Policy studies, Statistics, or related subjects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing strategy documents or contingency plans for institutions.
  • Excellent English language skills with the ability to write clear and compelling content for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and deliver high-quality outputs
