A prominent local peacebuilding and human rights organization is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Project Officer. This role will involve working closely with the programme manager and contributing to key project initiatives.

We believe that full realization of human rights is essential for achieving lasting peace. Our organization also implements peacebuilding interventions in communities identified as conflict and violence hotspots.
Job Overview
The Project Officer will play a pivotal role in planning, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on a key project currently undertaken by the organization. This position is crucial for tracking the progress of project activities and compiling information on the achievement of project outcomes, as outlined in our progress markers. The Project Officer will also develop high-quality progress reports and assist in drafting proposals for resource mobilization.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Planning, implementing, and monitoring the project’s activities.
- Developing comprehensive weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans to effectively guide project execution.
- Tracking the progress of planned activities against project schedules and milestones.
- Regularly updating internal stakeholders, including the organization’s staff, on the project’s progress or any challenges encountered.
- Preparing and submitting detailed narrative reports on the project’s outcomes.
- Gathering and consolidating project progress data and sharing insights with the Programmes Manager.
Requirements and Skills
- A minimum of three years of experience in project planning and implementation.
- Prior experience working with US agency grants is a plus.
- Strong narrative report writing skills.
- Knowledge, interest, and experience in peacebuilding and human rights.
- Strong facilitation skills and the ability to work effectively in remote rural settings.
- Experience in proposal writing is essential.
- A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related field.
